    Well, he is heavy set even for Wagner, but still, is this the beginning of the HD broadcast era? I’d hate to miss the best voices because they weren’t in the best bodies.

    Olivia: It’s a bit disquiting, given that there aren’t a ton of Wagnerian tenors out there. I know I’d prefer singers to sound good rather than look good.

    I find him very difficult to look at. Saw him do Lohengrin in Chicago last year and kept wishing it were Jonas Koffmann, who has the voice, the presence, and the beautiful figure to do Lohengrin to a turn. Bohta looked like a beached whale and could do very few stage movements.
