I’ll be interested to hear how “Moby Dick” turns out. Not a particularly easy text to turn into music drama. Otherwise the season is kind of a ho-hummer, Dallas Opera is not exactly known for being adventurous. But kudos to them for their new opera house.
I don’t think Tosca is on next year’s schedule (I believe Houston Grand Opera is the Texas company producing it next season).
Congrats to former SF Opera students Elsa van den Heever, Brandon Jovanvich and Sean Pannikar for starting to make it on the international circuit. Nice to see local singers make it out there in the world (all three being very talented, to boot).LikeLike

Well, in any case, we’ll find out how Moby-Dick goes, as we will be getting that very production in 2012, I believe.
