Wow, Lucas Meachem is doing Billy Budd. His career seems to be taking off. He is one of my personal favorites of the recent Adler Fellows.
Most enticing to me = Donna del Lago with Juan Diego Florez and Joyce Didonato
Strangest casting = Idomeneo with Villazon and Netrebko conducted by HaimLikeLike

It’s quite exciting for Lucas, I’m sure he will do well.
La Donna del Lago is enticing, but the Villazon/Netrebko Idomeneo sounds like it could be frightful. I’m most curious about Platée, personally.LikeLike

I’d love to see what the reaction of the French audience is to the lines in “Billy Budd”:
Don’t like the French
Don’t like their Frenchified ways
All that bowing and scraping
Don’t like the French!LikeLike

That didn’t even occur to me, even though I love that duet, it is so funny.
