According to a press release issued today, Matthew Polenzani (pictured left, photograph by Dario Acosta) will sing the role of Leicester in all performances of the Met’s Maria Stuarda this season, replacing Francesco Meli, who has withdrawn the role from his repertoire. At the moment, Polenzani is singing in the current production of L’Elisir d’Amore at the Met.
