The Met announced the 2016-2017 season today. There will be 225 performances of 26 operas, including six new productions. The new productions are Tristan und Isolde, Guillaume Tell, L'Amour de Loin, Roméo et Juliette, Rusalka, and Der Rosenkavalier.

    To the Met from a Friend.
    you know why you have empty seats? You are being cheep. You have to spend money to make money. Your Stage settings are so bad I can not believe it. Don Giovanie the other day was disgusting. You used to be
    elegant, in your costumes and sets. Go back to those days. The new Generation wants to dream, like I used to when I was in my teens.To take a look at some of your Opera’s you had and get back to those days.
    The Met has a reputation to be elegant. Thats the reason I used to dress up. But not anymore, give people a reason to do so.
    Listen and do it.
