I have heard Maestro YN-S conduct a fairly wide range of repertoire convincingly, including opera, and I find him to be an excellent choice to succeed our beloved James Levine. (My first choice would have been Donald Runnicles, but, apparently, I wasn’t consulted.) He’s not only got the musical chops that such a post requires; he also, I believe, has in abundance the requisite people skills and charm that can mean almost as much in the quest for success in such a challenging position.
