Why not just have an environmental treatment of the Ring cycle? I can’t imagine opera as documentary being effective as either.

It’s just very strange. A Keynote presentation becomes a documentary becomes an opera. Isn’t it enough that the movie got an Academy Award and Gore got a Nobel Prize?
