Céline Dion auditioned for Kent Nagano in Berlin last June, and apparently he recommended Renata Scotto as a voice teacher. Nagano and the Montréal Symphony Orchestra are to perform with Ms. Dion at some point, and the program is reportedly operatic.

It’s nice to know that even divas such as Dion still have to audition from time to time.

“…diagnosed a soprano…” Yikes! Is there an over-the-counter medication for that?

Niki: That’s a good way of looking at this. I was disturbed that our beloved Maestro Nagano is going to launch Ms. Dion’s career as an opera singer.

I am not a fan of the power ballad which has made Celine Dion famous, but I must admit that she has an amazing instrument. Hopefully, with the right coach, conductor and spirit (the latter being perhaps the most important in this case) she’ll be quite good.
