Agnes Varis and Karl Leichtman bought $500,000 worth of prime orchestra seat tickets for Doctor Atomic at the Met. These tickets will be resold for $30 apiece. The opera opens on Monday.

    I think it’s really lovely that they are trying to encourage people to hear this piece. On the other hand, this opera mentions “three pieces of chocolate cake,” so why wouldn’t people just go on their own?
