Salome is “family-friendly” except for the nudity. Hmm.

I think it’s really more for the PBS broadcast. And, if I may be so vulgar, while I love a good pair of :cough:, I don’t need to see Mattila’s 40+ year old bod 30 feet high.

I agree with the 1st 2 comments. I saw the HD broadcast, & it’s absurd that they cut away from a 1 second glimpse of Mattila topless but then have no problem showing all the gory details of her making out with a severed head. Her nude scene is an important part of her performance, whether or not you care to see a 40 year old woman’s breasts. They can always edit out the shot for TV broadcast.

The performers should be nude, not naked.
The visual of the body the audience sees has to match the level of the production.
A visually exaggarated nude body stage costume that looks more appealing than the real body is the answer.
Make-up and effect artists need to be employed when nudity and sexuality are in the story.LikeLike
