I assume that Mark Delavan is also the Wanderer in Siegfried? Pretty amazing to see Heidi’s Sieglinde assignment. I would also like to hear Silvestrelli’s Hagen. I liked Richard Paul Fink’s Alberich in Rheingold last year, so I’m surprised that he is not coming back.

Yes, good point, I missed putting Delavan in the right line. I’m looking forward to hearing Heidi as well.
Richard Paul Fink is great, I wonder if he is just overbooked.

Being an usher, I haven’t paid for a ticket at SFO in three years. The Ring Cycle I am definitely going to buy my way into, just so I can sit down.

I think I might just stand, but we’ll see, it is a long way off.

    Hey Opera Tattler,
Not about the Ring, but in other upcoming season news….
I came across a couple of future season tidbits in some online singer bios. These are all Italian Opera warhorses, so I guess David G isn’t kidding about his Italian thing.
Aida with Tichina Vaughan and Marco Vratogna
    Turandot with Marco Berti
Butterfly with Svetla Vassileva & Stefano Secco
a “new” Rigoletto with tenor Francesco Demuro

I’ve heard about the Aida, but the others aren’t too surprising either. Thanks for your help! I will update the SF Futures page.

Turandot with Berti? God, no. And why a new Rigoletto? And why do Butterfly with anyone other than Patricia Racette?
OT, there is no Mime in Goetterdaemmerung. 😉
