The West Coast premiere of Jake Heggie's Moby-Dick features Jay Hunter Morris as Ahab. John Del Carlo, Danielle de Niese, and Charles Castronovo sing in Don Pasquale. The Barber of Seville concludes next season, with Lucas Meachem in the title role.

Lindstrom is becoming a favorite in San Diego… Is she due to sing here?
I’m not terribly excited about the season, except for Moby Dick. I might pop down south for that. The Salome is somewhat attractive to me, mostly for Lindstrom, Mishura, and Grimsley.
I’m surprised by how many recent productions of Don Pasquale there are: The Met, WNO, now San Diego. Is this a relatively new development or has it always been a repertory standard?

I haven’t heard that she’s going to sing here, unfortunately. I wish she were singing in Turandot!
My suspicion is that Don Pasquale must be standard rep, because it was very easy to get a score for this.

Are you still … er … skeptical of Theorin? (I know you like to be to diplomatic in your tone, but I don’t know how else to ask this. Sorry!)

I was less than impressed with Theorin’s Isolde, so yes, I am worried about her in Turandot.
Really confused as to why Lindstrom wasn’t hired for our Turandot. Foster has been her cover.
