San Francisco Opera’s 90th season started on September 7, 2012 and finished on July 7, 2013. Eight operas were held at the War Memorial Opera House in 67 performances. The Company concluded Fiscal Year 2012-13 (FY 13) with a deficit of $811,915 on an operating budget of $68,707,049. Total operating revenue for FY 13 grew from $32,955,687 to $30,808,345, with income from ticket sales for FY13 at $19,785,866 compared to the season prior (FY12) at $24,302,997. Contributions to the FY13 Annual Fund reflected a 4.4% increase over the previous year and hit a new Company record level of $37,086,789 in financial support from approximately 8,000 donors.

The press release neglected to mention that, and his salary is not listed out in the expenses.

It’s in the Form 990 that non-profits file with the IRS. It was also listed in the San Francisco Business Times Book of Lists. It’s hard to determine if this was a one-time payout, or his average annual salary.
Not that I am objecting to his salary level, as it is probably in line with heads of other opera houses.LikeLike
