This is so much easier to read than anything I’ve seen directly from SFS. Thank you!

    Papageno

Looks like a good season from the exceptional San Francisco Symphony. And you guys are getting both Dutoit and Blomstedt for two weeks (unlike the rather disappointing L.A. Phil 2015/16 season — ugh)!
Blomstedt conducted a Bruckner 9 with the LA Phil this past January that was astonishing. The performance was so amazing that he got a Tusch from the orchestra at the end of it (one of the musicians told me that no other conductor has received one from the Phil since they moved into Disney Hall). Maestro Blomstedt looked surprised and deeply touched.

The LA Phil season starts with a lot of Beethoven! Seems like there are quite a few pieces from John Adams and Avro Pärt though, which could be interesting. I suppose it depends on one’s tastes though.
Blomstedt conducts at SFS every year, since he is Conductor Laureate. It is nice to hear he is well regarded elsewhere!
